Gyankriti: A place where logic meets creativity


The name is self explanatory, we are a confluence of knowledge (gyan) and creation (kriti). Nearly 50 years ago, Sigmund Freud (1958) suggested that every child at play “behaves like a creative writer, in that he creates a world of his own, or, rather, rearranges the things of his world in a new way which pleases him...The creative writer does the same as the child at play. He creates a world of fantasy which he takes very seriously—that is, which he invests with large amounts of emotion”.

Working on similar lines we create an environment where the child is motivated to learn by doing. We bring along the logical thinking and the creativity of a child with an aim for overall holistic and cognitive development of our children which would finally help them in their proper schooling and throughout their lives. We take the following steps to achieve this objective:

  • Individual Attention: Class sizes are small (15 students in Preschool, 25 students in Junior School). There is a comprehensive on-going assessment of the child's progress. Detailed individual records are maintained of each child. Educators conduct Home Visits. Teaching is based on a system which takes into account the individual differences in children.
  • Learning through activities: The preschool has completely activity based curriculum. In the school, a lot of importance is given to practical learning, excursions, hands-on learning, doing experiments, learning through puzzles and games etc.
  • Lots of Sports and other activities: The school provides children physical and mental space so that they develop curiosity and self-esteem. The child is exposed to a range of activities and experiences. These include Dance, Tennis, Skating, Sanskrit, Visits, and Nature Camps. Class 5 onwards the students may opt for activities like Mouth Organ, Tabla, Keyboard, Drums, Pottery, Art, Vocal Music & Dance, Basketball and Football.
